Shigehiro KAGAYA − Editorial Board Member
Shigehiro KAGAYA, Professor of Graduate School of Science and Engineering for Research,
University of Toyama, was born in 1967 in Akita. He received Bachelor (1991) and Master
(1993) degrees from Kanazawa University. He worked as a Research Associate (1995−2001) at
Wastewater Treatment Plant, University of Toyama, and then served as a Lecturer (2001−2006)
and Associate Professor (2006−2012) at the Faculty of Engineering. During these periods, he
received a Doctor degree from Kanazawa University (1997), and stayed at the laboratory of Prof.
Spas D. Kolev, The University of Melbourne, as a visiting researcher (2010). He was promoted
to his present position in 2012. His current research interest is focused on the development of
practical separation methods based on solid-phase extraction and coprecipitation. He enjoys
Kendo training with his sons.
