The enantiomers of fourteenO,O-dialkyl-2-benzyloxycarbonyl-aminoarylmethyl-phosphonatesare directly separated on the tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) cellulosecolumn (Chiralcel OD-R) under reversed phase mode. The results of thechiral separation are different from the results obtained in the normalphase mode. The mobile phase plays an essential role in chiraldiscrimination when using Chiralcel OD-R. The influences of the mobilephase composition on the retention and the enantioselectivity areinvestigated. The influences on chiral separation of the length and sterichindrance of alkoxy groups of the phosphonate ester and of the nature ofthe substituent on the benzene ring that is attached to the chiral carbonatom are also discussed.
