Hiroyuki YAMAMOTO − Editorial Board Member
Hiroyuki YAMAMOTO, Principal Scientist of Quantum Beam Science Directorate at Japan
Atomic Energy Agency, was born in 1959 in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture. He received Bachelor
(1983), Master (1985), and Doctor degrees of Science (1988) from Tokyo University of Science.
He served as a Research Scientist in the Department of Chemistry at Japan Atomic Energy
Research Institute from 1988. He was promoted to Principal Scientist in 2003. The institute was
reorganized to Japan Atomic Energy Agency in Oct. 2005. His research interests include the
surface analysis and interaction between quantum beams and nano-materials. He enjoys listening
to classical music, and sometimes drinking (a little).
